Difficult and dishonest
Took forever to get the second key and to get the GPS chip and still not up to date. Went in for oil change service once and a good experience.
Went back again and had them add weights to the inside of one tire to make it out of balance.
Weights were slapped in there sideways just to make the tire badly off balance so they could sell an alignment. But I went to tire shop and had it rebalanced and there was nothing wrong.
Do not trust these people.
I do like my used vehicle that I purchased though and it is run good but it did come with a warranty so expected it to be ok.
Lies Lies and scammers!!
Pulled the spot delivery scam!! Buyer beware!!
No good used cars
I bought a used car from them and two days after l got home l started having trouble with it,so l take it back to the dealership and they traded me out on another car. One hour after l got it home the new used car stalled. Please don't trust them with used cars
Best experience when purchasing a car
Never have I bought a car before where the salesman truly cared about my needs. Justin Britt was honest and listened to exactly what I wanted and what I was able to afford. What a pleasure it was dealing with Justin Britt at Cowboy Kia
STEER CLEAR!
I bought a 2014 KIA Sorrento, AWD SXL used in May of 2015 with 8K miles on it, it was like new, but I spent the +/-2k for the extended warranty. In Dec.
2016, while I was sitting in the parking lot of a post office preparing to go in, I heard this loud explosion. I felt the repercussion sitting in my car. It was a beautiful clear day, and no trees near my car, therefore, I supposed that it was something from a business around or on I-45...I left town as planned the next day, I was 300 miles from Houston when I notice an "air leak". I checked all my windows, no closed tight; the hatch, again, closed.
Then I noticed the headliner flapping, so I figured the sunroof wasn't closed fully. When I started to open the sunroof, glass started showering in. There was no dealership nearby, so I limped home and took it back to Cowboy KIA, where I had purchased it, where I foolishly assumed they would be happiest to take care of me. Having read up on the internet, I figured because of the commonality of this issue, it should be under my warranty.
To my surprise, they determined that it was caused by impact and they wouldn't cover it. Quite unhappily, I pull out my insurance card; the service advisor says she's worked with Liberty Mutual before and has had great luck, not to worry; I called, got immediate approval for the repair and a rental car ordered. This was Thursday, Dec. 15.
I was promised my car would be ready on Monday. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday I got nothing but double-talk and promises. Wednesday, my husbanded called (I was suppose to go out of town again the next day) and asked to speak with the General Manager and was told he was not there and not expected back. He spoke with servicing and told that our insurance co wouldn't pay and they sent the glass back.
We called LM, who said it was approved and not a problem...after going back and forth for hours like this, it turned out Liberty Mutual would not pay until the work was completed and Cowboy KIA wouldn't do the work until they got paid! The insurance agent who handled my rental finally reached out to a glass co that would do the work and guarantee the payment. I was finally promised the car by 2:30 on Thursday. I drove up there at 2:00 and had the rental returned...I wasn't leaving without my car.
I didn't leave until after 7pm with no word on why. The car was still full of glass and glue was all over the car ~ as a consolation, the service manager promised me a detail job! Really? Never have I had a car worked on that it wasn't returned detailed, and they acted like this was a great gift!
I will be reporting this to the NHTSA and look into joining a class action law suit for the exploding sunroof. I WILL NEVER do business of any kind or recommend Cowboy KIA to ANYONE!

when i bought my kia, i thought this would be a gas friendly economical car.that is until i started having problem after problem with the ac. after trying several different mechanics i decided to take it to cowboy kia.
first off let me say, the customer service to even get to the service department was a joke, the customer service person had no pleasantries what so ever. the first time i brought it here it stayed for a week came back to me with the same problem, the only thing they changed with the control dial for the ac but it still didn't blow cold. (there was nothing wrong with the control head) that was 700.00 when i got in my car i noticed that the problem wasn't fixed it still blew hot air. the very next day i brought the car back and now theres a leak one of the seals from the compressor...which baisaclly means i need another compressor.
what i dont understand is why wasn't this teased when it was there for a week? i dont think these people know what it is there doing. Kia is a joke and i shoulda got a Honda. i am beyond pissed off!
the car has 113000 miles on it.
my advice is to get the extended warranty and bring it to someone who knows what their doing because kia does not. im starting to hate this car and cowboy KIA equally.
Cowboy KIA Crooks
After researching the best deals online I found Cowboy KIA to have the best pricing and incentives around. But once I arrived at the dealership it became apparent that the price and other incentives offered online line were all lies.
I bought a car on 04/02/2016 when Cowboy KIA was running a promotion to receive a $300 gift card for purchasing a car. I was told on 07/01/2016, 3 months later I would not be receiving this card because the promotion ended before I purchased the car even though the promotion was still being advertised at the dealership, on the internet, and throughout the negotiations. I was told by manager Justin Reyes on 07/01/2016, after 3 months of calling and asking about the gift card that I would not be receiving the gift card because the promotion had ended either on March 28th or 29th but for some reason when I went in on 04/02/2016 the promotion was still being offered to me and was a part of the sales negotiation. The night of April 2nd I had direct conversations with management and my sales associate Trinidad about how the $300 gift card was an extra incentive I would be receiving in order to further reduce the purchase price of the car.
I think the shadiest part about the whole transaction came from the sales associate Trinidad. I was told directly from him in order to receive the gift card I needed to rate him as excellent on KIA’s short survey they send out. Any response other than excellent and I wouldn’t be receiving the gift card. Also, I was told by Trinidad I would need to go on Yelp and Dealerrater.com and give him and the dealership an excellent rating as part of the things I needed to do in order to receive the gift card.
I knew right off this was total garbage but wanted to comply in order not to hinder the receipt of the gift card. One last item, I was also told by Justin Reyes on 07/01/2016 that this was a KIA corporate sponsored promotion and it was out of his hands and could do nothing else for me. I called KIA corporate today 07/05/2016 to file a complaint and learned that this was not a KIA corporate promotion but a dealership promotion. So the lies continue.
I feel that I’m not the only customer who is affected by this since I have seen recent posts on various websites detailing the same scenario. If indeed what Mr.
Reyes told me is true and the promotion did in fact cease on 03/28/2016 then there was a 5 day window where this promotion was still being offered to customers but not being paid out. I feel Cowboy KIA made affirmative misrepresentations when advertising there $300 gift card promotion and could be effecting hundreds of their customers since they calm to be a volume dealer.

Horrible
Let me tell you about a recent experience I had at Cowboy Kia in Conroe, TX and why you should avoid the place like fire. To set the stage, I am a professional man in my mid 40’s. I am a father of two girls and I am the GM of a $25 Million dollar business in Houston. I say that not to brag but rather to tell you that my expectations may be higher than some, but after reading this, you will see that they really are not. I would gladly settle for mediocrity from this place….
My girlfriend and I are in the market for a slightly used Jeep Wrangler. They had two that we saw online and decided to drive up and check them out. The first time there, we were met with a group of very aggressive sales people that all seemed to be smoking in front of the dealership. After navigating the nauseating cloud of tobacco, we entered the “showroom” (a term I use very loosely). The first thing I noticed was trash all over the floor and coffee cups everywhere. We were approached by a tall African American gentleman that did not introduce himself, but rather asked “What do you need?” I said “Wow, well, we’d like to check out that Jeep right there” as I pointed to it. It was on the website for $26,500. He said hold on and went to retrieve the keys. When he came back I asked about another Jeep they had on the website and he said he THINKS it was sold but wasn’t sure. I asked if he could check to BE SURE and he said it wasn’t available anywhere. Then he went on to give us the keys and tell us to test drive it. Mind you, he has not asked for any ID. ***, he doesn’t even know our names at this point. We drove it, liked it a lot actually, and went to bring the keys back. The guy was nowhere to be found. After looking for him for a few minutes, we dropped the keys on his desk and left.
Two days later on Saturday the 28th of May, I returned to buy the Jeep as a surprise to my girlfriend. I wasn’t about to hunt this guy down again, so I met (I use the word “met” loosely too) a new sales guy. This gentleman said “What are you looking for”. Again, no introduction. I’m seeing a theme here. I said I’d like for you to appraise my truck as a trade and I’d like to buy that Jeep right there. He asked if I wanted to drive it and I told him I already had and that I had a very unfavorable experience with the sales guy and wanted to deal with someone else. Not only was he eager, he didn’t bother to ask why or what bad experience I had. He just wanted a sale, not a customer. He took my keys and went to survey my truck. Again, this guy still does not know my name….
He came in and directed me to his cubicle and asked me to wait for the appraisal to see if we could “make a deal” (HUGE PET PEEVE). While I was sitting at his cube, I could see the reflection of the manager’s “office” in the window I was seated next to. He went in and there began the dance. While he was shoveling food into his mouth, the manager crunched numbers. When he finally came back, he said my name is Steve by the way, what’s yours… I told him and he presented the purchase agreement to me where the price of the Jeep had miraculously jumped $3495 to a whopping $29995. I immediately asked why the price on the jeep was not as advertised as on the website and he said our prices change daily. I told him that oil prices change daily, not car prices. Especially when they are advertised… The offer for my 2015 fully loaded Dodge Ram with a Hemi and less than 20,000 miles on the odometer was $20,000. This is a truck that sold only months ago for $46,000. I get depreciation, but come on. Especially when you are pulling prices on you Jeep. I told him it was ridiculous and he said let me see what I can do. He went back to the manager’s area and began eating what looked like Chinese food or Ramen noodles. Mind you, the manager’s cube has missing windows so when they start yelling, cussing (which they do A LOT HERE, the customer, if he is the only one in the showroom, as I was can hear EVERYTHING that goes on in there.) Here is where it gets good and thanks for hanging on up until now.
He tells the manager fellow, and I quote “THIS GUY IS A REAL ***ING *** . I got up from my chair and walked towards the cube where there were 5 others beside Steve and they all went “Shhh shhh shhh”. I said “give me my keys right now. Nobody gets to call me that. This is the most unprofessional place I’ve ever been”. Then, in a wild show of mockery they all six starting waving and very loudly yelling “BYE. DRIVE SAFE ***. BYE FELICIA” etc.
Since then, I’ve tried several times to get ahold of the owner and GM. Calls and emails have gone unanswered. In fact, one of the receptionists told me “We don’t have no owner right now”.
Steer clear of this place if you have any self-respect or dignity. They are vultures.

Trying to cheat
Biggest Liars I have ever seen did not honor there advertised price on their website and it says bring site bring CarMax written trade-in offer they will beat by $1000 there manger Justin and there rep Tommy was trying to cheat me saying your CarMax offer is 22000 they will give me 20000 and will get tax break which matches CarMax’s offer still didn’t, me and my wife waited 5 1/2 hours then they told us we don't want to trade-in my car and raised the price on new car I was trying to buy saying since it’s a newer model we cannot offer you discount but there website shows same price for 2016 and 2017 then I picked out 7 different cars they said they are all sold I walked though there lot they found few of them more lies BE AWARE I called twice before driving 2 1/2 hours both times they told me few cars I was interested in are in stock every time I ask for manager he come back saying manager is busy I said I can wait for him then he went to his office came back and told me he is gone for the day I told him I am not leaving without seeing him then he shows up I ask him what is all this about he told me I don’t want to discuss anything and they have a right to refuse anyone's business I guess they have too much money by ripping off people be very careful....
- Try to cheat on tax and selling price
Dishonest to the core
I find it very difficult to believe that Kia Motors would allow a company like Cowboy Kia to distribute their product. The level of dishonesty and underhandedness is truly frightening.
Being an person who has purchased a dozen new cars in his life and one that values their time, I attempted to expedite the process by doing the following. Found a car online that suited my needs, called dealership to verify stock number was still available, went online and submitted a "Buy Now", received pre-approval and an e-mail confirming status and availability of said car. Attempted to get a drive out cash price so I could just bring a cashiers check, sign a few documents and be on my way. They stated this was impossible and not their policy.
I reconfirmed that the stock number was still available. 15 minute drive to the dealership, greeted by the supposed son-in-law of the lady who confirmed car availability, pre-approval, etc. (Her name is Veronica Hewitt, but to be honest I think this is just a call sign for "this is a bait and switch" target). Needless to say after 2 hours of sleazy, dirty unsavory tactics, I left very frustrated.
It is unbelievable that a dealership could blow a sale as easy as mine was going to be.
I don't want to waste any more of my valuable time with more sordid details but find it necessary to warn the good people of Texas to STAY VERY FAR AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP. And if Cowboy Kia ever reads up on their reviews and sees this one.....Honesty is the best policy.
Cowboy Kia - Vehicle Review from Houston, Texas
There are a lot of reputable, honest, dealerships that genuinely care about and respect their potential customers... Cowboy Kia of Conroe is NOT on that list.
They flat out lied to me over the phone (after THEY called me) guaranteeing terms of a sale, and denied the guarantee, refusing to honor their word after I dragged my pregnant wife 1-1/2 hours up there. This happened twice. The second time, they sent pictures of the a vehicle I was interested in and spelled out the downpayment, monthly payments, and term length of loan in text, (they already had my credit application on file from my filling it out both online, and 3 days earlier the first time we drove up there). The manager even said " Consider it my personal gift to you and your wife for your new baby".
Seeing it in writing, I thought, there was no way that they could be so deceitful, again. I was wrong. They raised the price by more than $1000 the first trip, and more than double the second time, both times once I got there. Fool me twice, I guess.
My fault for giving the benefit of the doubt. They even denied me the opportunity to speak to the manager and the rep that sent me the photos and text guarantee.
They are, by definition, ***-ARTISTS, and I encourage anyone to take their hard-earned money elsewhere to buy a vehicle. If you doubt my story, I've posted screen shots of the photos and guarantee texts they sent me below.

They suck and liars.sales really crooks dont do business with them please.
Cowboy Kia - Repair Review from New Orleans, Louisiana
After engine repair at 29,000 mi. Took Sorento back to put inner fender & plastic valance back on (pins were out).
Dealer said other side was removed not the one with the pins missing after they said fender liners aren't removed when pulling the engine. How convenient for them. This was after they kept the car for 2 weeks to rebuild engine. 1 week was to determine if Kia was to warranty engine or not.
I do believe I was ripped off. Will never recommend Cowboy Kia to anyone
Unprofessional and deceiving!
I was told by one of the sales reps that I would get $100 for every customer I referred and after referring 1 customer I called the sales rep and he transferred me to the manager and he said that it did not count as a reference and that MAYBE he could work out a deal with me next time and rudely told me I could either take it or leave it. This is not professional and unacceptable from the manager of a big dealership.
I will never ever in my life refer someone else to Cowboy Kia. Avoid these liars at all costs and save yourself the headache of dealing with these deceiving bunch!
